Outpatient Registration
Please note: Appointments are scheduled in accordance with the current S3 guideline on the care of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in primary care practices (AWMF Registry No. 053-048, specifically pp. 59–60 and 94).
An appointment can only be scheduled once all relevant test results are available in full. In particular, please provide us with information regarding the history of kidney function since the GFR (glomerular filtration rate) fell below the age-appropriate normal range. Based on this information, we will assess the urgency of the visit and schedule an appointment accordingly.
Remarks:
- Our patients are all different, as are their conditions. Some have stable kidney failure and have been referred to a specialist; others are about to begin dialysis and need prompt, individualized planning and optimization of their current treatment. For this reason, we review all requests in advance and, based on that, schedule appointments according to clinical urgency. To ensure we can properly address the needs of all patients and their medical conditions, it is essential that we review all documentation in advance. We will find the right solution for you.

Legal Regulations & Confidentiality: Health data is specially protected by the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) as well as by Section 203 of the German Criminal Code (medical professional secrecy). Violations can lead to severe fines or criminal consequences.
-
Lack of Security (Risk of Eavesdropping): A conventional email functions similarly to a postcard. Along its path across various servers, the content can easily be read, intercepted, or manipulated by unauthorized persons, as end-to-end encryption is often not active.
-
Errors Caused by Incorrect Addresses: A typo in the email address or auto-completion in the email client can quickly result in sensitive medical reports being sent to the wrong person.
-
Legal Situation Regarding Standard Email: Sending via standard email alone (e.g., via Gmail or Outlook without additional encryption) is impermissible without explicit, informed consent from the patient. Even with consent, it remains a compromise under data protection law.
